Karnataka woman found injured in field along with child beside her, dies; husband, friend named suspects
BENGALURU: A 25-year-old woman died in a hospital after she was found severely injured in a field near her parents’ house in Karnataka’s Raichur district on Saturday, police said.
The woman was identified as Sneha, a resident of Rehabilitation Camp No. 4, was found lying in the field with her child. She was breathing but unable to speak when she was found, police said. Police suspect she may have been attacked with a blunt object.
Sneha was rushed to a hospital for treatment but later succumbed to her injuries.
She had been staying at her parents’ house for the past few days after leaving her husband Amit’s home following domestic disputes. The couple had been married for around three years and had a daughter.
Police are also probing Sneha’s alleged relationship with another man, which they said had led to frequent arguments between the couple.
A murder case was registered under Sindhanur Rural police limits following a complaint by Sneha’s brother. Her husband and one of his friends have been named as suspects.
Police are examining technical evidence and other leads as part of the investigation.
