Lawyer dies as truck hits bike on NH-19 in Rohtas
Sasaram : A 50-year-old advocate died after a speeding truck allegedly hit his motorcycle on NH-19 near Suara village under Dehri Muffasil police station in Rohtas district on Monday, police said. The victim, Praveen Dubey , a resident of Durgapur village under same station area, was on his way from Dehri Civil Court to Sasaram court when the accident occurred.
According to eyewitnesses, Dubey was attempting to enter the service lane near an underpass after crossing an overbridge when a truck coming from behind rammed into his motorcycle. He sustained severe head injuries in the crash.
Local residents rushed him to Narayan Medical College and Hospital at Jamuhar, where doctors declared him dead. The truck driver fled the spot with the vehicle after the accident.
The incident sparked grief among advocates and the victim’s family members. Police took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem examination. Police have launched a search for the truck and its driver and are investigating the circumstances leading to the accident.
