Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim to meet Kanthapuram on Sunday

Kozhikode : Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim will visit the Markaz Central Campus on Sunday and hold talks with All India Sunni Jemiyyathul Ulema general secretary Kanthapuram A P Aboobacker Musaliyar .

The visit is part of Ibrahim’s five-day tour of India. He will travel to Kozhikode after attending the BRICS summit in New Delhi.

The Malaysian PM will meet Aboobacker Musaliyar and attend a special prayer gathering and a reception hosted by the AP Sunni chief at the Markaz Convention Centre. A discussion involving prominent figures from the religious, political and social spheres will also be held, focusing on issues including education and social development .

After his visit to Markaz, Ibrahim will accompany Aboobacker Musaliyar to the Madavoor C M Valiyullah Makham , a prominent spiritual centre in south India. This will be Ibrahim’s second visit to Kerala to meet Aboobacker Musaliyar. He had visited the Markaz campus in Sept 2022, a month before becoming Prime Minister. He had also visited the Madavoor Makham along with Aboobacker Musaliyar during that visit.

In 2023, the Malaysian govt conferred the Hijra Award , its highest honour for Islamic scholars, on Aboobacker Musaliyar.
