Man stabbed to death while sleeping after argument over drinking in Mumbai's Kandivali
MUMBAI: Kurar Police have arrested a 23-year-old man for the murder of an acquaintance following a trivial dispute at Kandivali East.
Police said the deceased, Shrikant Jadhav, 35, was drinking with friends and acquaintances at Gokul Nagar in Kandivali East on Sept 19 when the incident occurred.
Police registered a complaint based on a statement given by Jadhav's brother, Dilip.
On Sept 19, Jadhav had met his friend, Vishnu Vishwakarma, for a drink at Golul Nagar. They were joined by their acquaintances, Sunil, and Chetan Sawant. Police said Jadhav mocked Sawant who was infuriated.
Around 2.30 am, while Jadhav slept, Sawant stabbed him with a knife on the left side of his chest. Yadav bled severely and was subsequently pronounced dead.
Kurar Police registered a case of murder the same day and arrested Sawant. He was produced before a local court.
