Marriage plans in doubt, Hyderabad cop ends life after video call with fiancee
HYDERABAD: A 35-year-old police constable allegedly died by suicide at his residence in Shalivahan Nagar of Malakpet late on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as M Chandrasekhar, who was attached to the Armed Reserve of the Malkajgiri commissionerate and working as a writer in Malakpet police station.
On Sunday night, he reportedly called his fiancée before taking the extreme step.
“He did not leave any suicide note. She informed the Chaitanyapuri police, who in turn alerted the Malakpet police. By the time police reached the spot, he was found dead. The exact cause of his death is being probed,” police officials said.
Based on a complaint, police officials registered a case of suspicious death.
“Chandrasekhar had been under distress after he learnt that his marriage with his fiancée might not happen,’’ Malakpet police said.
