'No dispute': What Tiger Shroff told Eknath Shinde during late-night meeting after firing
MUMBAI: Actor Tiger Shroff and his family were left shaken after five rounds were fired at his car in Mumbai’s Juhu area on Sunday evening, prompting Maharashtra deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde to assure them of security and warn that the government would respond to gang violence with force.
Shinde met Shroff at his residence in Bandra late Sunday night and enquired about his health. Speaking to reporters after the meeting, he said the actor had sustained injuries to his left hand from gunpowder and glass shards but had escaped gunshot injuries.

“Five rounds were fired, but fortunately, he was safe. His driver sustained injuries, and the incident is condemnable,” Shinde said, adding that Shroff and his mother, Ayesha Shroff, were under considerable mental stress.
Shinde said the actor had no dispute or altercation that could explain the attack and assured the family that the state government would provide all necessary assistance.
‘Bullets for bullets’: Shinde warns gangs
Issuing a stern warning to criminal gangs, Shinde said the government would not tolerate attempts to threaten celebrities or establish the dominance of gangs in Mumbai and Maharashtra.
“It will be tit for tat, bullets for bullets,” he said, asserting that the police would identify those responsible and dismantle the networks behind the attack.
Recalling Mumbai’s crackdown on gang wars in the 1990s, Shinde said criminal networks had been brought under control and warned that authorities would act firmly against any attempt to revive such violence.
“These attempts to intimidate people will not be tolerated, and we will put an end to this hooliganism,” he said.
Police form special team to trace attackers
Unidentified assailants opened fire at Shroff’s car in Juhu around 7pm on Sunday as the actor was leaving a football club, according to police. Two people, including his driver, were injured in the incident.
A social media post purportedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang has claimed responsibility for the attack, but police have yet to verify its authenticity.
Shinde said Mumbai Police had taken serious note of the firing and formed a special team to trace the accused. He also said Mumbai Police Commissioner Deven Bharti had been instructed to review security arrangements for actors and other members of the film industry.
The deputy CM assured that the attackers would be arrested and strict action taken against those responsible, reiterating that the safety of citizens and celebrities would not be compromised.
