No power shortage despite 2 Ropar units down: Sond
Chandigarh: Punjab faced no power shortage despite two units of the Guru Gobind Singh Super Thermal Plant , Ropar , with a combined capacity of 150 MW, being non-functional, power minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond said on Tuesday.
Sond said one of the units would be operational by Wednesday morning and the other within a few days. He said no shortage-related power cuts were imposed anywhere in the state.
Punjab met a demand of 16,268 MW on September 12, 16,455 MW on September 13 and 17,281 MW on September 14, with the latter being the highest-ever demand met by the state, Sond said.
“Despite two units being down, there was no power shortage in the state,” he said.
