Pitbull attacks Class 7 boy in Faridabad, leaves him with 16 bite marks; father says owner did not intervene
FARIDABAD: A Class 7 student was seriously injured after being attacked by a pitbull dog in NIT-3, Faridabad, police said on Sunday.
The boy's family initially took him to BK Hospital, from where doctors referred him to a higher medical centre. He is currently undergoing treatment.
According to a complaint filed by Jitendra, a biryani cart owner, his son Granth had gone out on his bicycle on Saturday evening and was talking to a friend in front of a house when the pitbull allegedly attacked him.
"The dog kept biting my son. The dog's owner made no attempt to save my son. People from the neighbourhood rushed to the spot after hearing cries. The dog was finally separated ... The attack left him with bite marks in 16 places across his body, including hands and legs," Jitendra alleged in his complaint.
Police identified the dog's owner as Om, outside whose house Granth was standing at the time of the incident.
"We have received a complaint and on the based on complaint, a probe is underway," Sub-Inspector Manoj Kumar, the investigating officer, said.
