A shocking video of a customer assaulting a bank manager in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, has gone viral, leaving social media abuzz. The incident reportedly occurred at a Union Bank branch on December 5.

According to a complaint filed by branch manager Saurabh Singh, the customer had visited the bank to discuss Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) on his fixed deposit interest. Despite receiving a detailed explanation about the refund process, the customer grew furious, accusing the bank of fraud.

In the viral clip, the man can be seen aggressively confronting Singh, pulling his ID card, grabbing his shirt, and eventually tearing it. Attempts by other employees, including Shubham Jain, to intervene were met with hostility, with Jain being slapped and his shirt also torn.

The manager contacted the police when the situation escalated further. The customer has since been arrested, and authorities are investigating the incident.


Online, the video sparked varied reactions. Many called for better communication of TDS policies by banks and suggested implementing a stronger grievance redressal system. Others voiced concern over the rising trend of assaults on banking staff, emphasizing the need for safety measures.

This incident highlights the growing pressure on both customers and bankers and the urgent need for reforms to ease frustrations on both sides.
