Shocking Video: Men Swept Away in Dehradun Flash Flood While Awaiting Help

A terrifying video has surfaced from Dehradun, Uttarakhand, showing labourers stranded and then swept away by the swollen Tons river. Reports say the group, involved in mining work, got trapped on a tractor stranded in the middle of the river. At least six are feared dead.

The footage captures around 10 men desperately waving for help as the floodwaters rise. Onlookers from the riverbank try to mount a rescue, but before they can act, the tractor overturns and the men are pulled under the raging current. Panic spreads as people scream and run helplessly.




Heavy overnight rains have wreaked havoc across Dehradun, Mussoorie, and Mal Devta, damaging homes, roads, and infrastructure. A bridge near Law College in Prem Nagar has collapsed, and approach roads have been washed away in over 25 locations. Rescue teams have evacuated nearly 400 people.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami confirmed that all rivers in the state are overflowing. "Roads have been breached at 25 to 30 places. Approach roads are cut off. Houses and government properties have been damaged. Normal life is severely affected. Rescue teams are working on a war footing to restore normalcy," he said. "The state government stands with every affected family. The administration is already on alert mode, and the NDRF, SDRF, police and local administration are constantly active," he added.

The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, and local teams are working round the clock.




The Chief Minister has updated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and the Centre has assured full assistance during this crisis.

The situation remains critical as authorities continue efforts to bring relief and restore normalcy.
