Morrisons has relaunched its Blue Light Card discount to give customers 10% off their shop every Friday until the end of February. People in the emergency services, NHS, armed forces, teaching and social care communities will be able to grab the offer on purchases of £40 or more in-store.

At 7am each day, a new code will appear in the Blue Light Card app, which customers can redeem in store on Friday 13, Friday 20 and Friday 27.

Joe Mathison, head of strategic partnerships, said: "Families across the country are feeling the impact of price hikes, with grocery costs at an all-time high.

"We want to do everything we can to thank the everyday heroes that make up the Blue Light community, so we're pleased to partner with Morrisonsonce again to offer key workers extra support this February.

"Savings like this can genuinely make a difference to those on the front line - and it couldn't be easier to access."

Research from Which? showed that the cost of a typical weekly shop at Morrisons amounted to £187.65, for the price of 89 groceries. So the average shopper with access to this offer could save £18.77 every Friday, totalling £56.31 by the end of the month.

The Blue Light Card scheme offers discounts across several supermarkets, including Sainsbury's, Co-op and Iceland, to reward core workers.

It comes after Morrisons announced a major shake-up to its in-store discounts, bringing back physical coupons in a bid to get more shoppers through the door.

The supermarket has teamed up with retail tech firm Ecrebo to print the vouchers in real time at the tills. Personalised coupons and offers will be generated from data collected at checkout, so deals are matched to customers' purchases.
