SI among three cops injured as truck hits patrol vehicle in Buxar
Buxar : Three police personnel, including a sub-inspector (SI), sustained serious injuries after a speeding truck rammed a police patrol vehicle near Pachdarwa Bridge under Nawanagar police station area in Buxar late on Tuesday night, police said.
According to police, the injured were identified as SI Sanjeev Kumar Singh (40), constable Brijbihari Singh and patrol vehicle driver Omprakash Kumar . All three were admitted to hospital for treatment. The patrol team was on duty near Pachdarwa Bridge when a truck coming from Dumraon side allegedly went out of control, turned into the wrong lane and crashed into the police vehicle.
The impact severely damaged the front portion of the patrol vehicle. SI Singh became trapped inside the wreckage and was rescued using a gas cutter by police personnel.
The injured officers were first taken to Nawanagar Community Health Centre (CHC), where they received primary treatment. They were later referred to a private hospital in Bikramganj due to the seriousness of their injuries.
After the collision, the truck overturned into a roadside ditch. Police seized the vehicle, while the driver fled the scene.
Confirming the incident, Nawanagar SHO Prafulla Kumar said, “The truck went out of control before crashing into the police patrol vehicle. Three police personnel sustained injuries and were shifted to hospital for treatment. Police are trying to trace the absconding truck driver.”
