Sri City Boiler Blast: Tablets (India) Says It Has No Common Ownership With TIL Healthcare
Tablets (India) Limited has clarified that it has no connection with the deadly boiler explosion at a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh, after reports about the accident caused confusion over the identity of the company involved.
The clarification follows the October 3 explosion at the TIL Healthcare Private Limited facility in the Sri City Special Economic Zone in Tirupati district. The accident claimed five lives and left several others injured. It also caused significant damage to the factory premises, prompting rescue operations and a government-ordered investigation.
In its clarification, the company categorically stated that it does not operate any factory or manufacturing facility in Sri City.

Police, fire personnel and emergency response teams reached the site following the explosion. The blast damaged parts of the factory and led to an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The exact cause of the explosion has not yet been established. A preliminary report cited by The Times of India suggested that a lack of water in the boiler may have contributed to the failure. However, investigators are expected to examine whether mechanical issues, human error or other factors played a role.
Reports have also indicated that a boiler inspector was suspended as part of the action following the accident. Further findings are expected to clarify the sequence of events and identify any responsibility for the incident.
Meanwhile, Tablets (India) has urged the media and the public to distinguish clearly between the two companies while reporting on the accident.
