Hyderabad: Congress cadre from Telangana Minister Ponnam Prabhakar’s constituency, Husnabad, left for the national capital on Friday, October 30, to join the ‘Chalo Dilli’ protest march called by the INDIA bloc on November 1.

The cadre were seen boarding buses in Siddipet district, carrying placards that read “Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao.” The Husnabad Congress contingent will take part in significant numbers to uphold democracy, protect the sanctity of the right to vote and raise their voices against alleged vote theft.

‘Chalo Dilli’ march

The INDIA bloc will hold the ‘November 1st – Chalo Dilli ‘Vote Bachao, Desh Bachao’ people’s march and mega rally’ to protest against alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls and to demand the immediate resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The protest will be organised at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan. Earlier this month, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi said the march is not specific to any political party but is being held for the very soul of India.

In a video on X, Gandhi said it is a singular protest for the nation.

“The ‘Chalo Delhi’ Ramlila March is a march to save democracy, to put an end to the theft of votes, and to protect the Constitution,” Gandhi said.

“To all those who are fed up with Narendra Modi, Amit Shah and Gyanesh Kumar, and everyone who wishes to save democracy and defend the Constitution, I invite you all to join,” he added.
