Udayavani Deepavali Special Issue: Call for reader submissions

Manipal: Submissions from readers have been invited for the Udayavani Deepavali Special Issue, which is being published with its own unique tradition.

Characters of Daily Life

Many characters come and go in our daily lives. Among them, some become a part of our routine. For example, ranging from the person delivering the daily newspaper and milk early in the morning, to the domestic helper, the auto-rickshaw driver who drops children off at school, vegetable and fish vendors, electricians, mechanics, plumbers, cable operators, and many others who provide various services. Even though we pay them for their services, they are intertwined with our lives in one way or another. Some of them earn our affection through their honest service and dedication to duty. Such individuals may be an integral part of your daily routine. Write about them in 75-100 words and send it to us.

Ten-Line Stories

There might be a writer hidden within you as well. Here is an opportunity to bring it out. It could be your experience, imagination, or a real-life incident. Put them into words in the form of a ten-line story and send it to us.

Both of these writings must be original creations. Copied works or text picked up from elsewhere will not be accepted. Selected writings will be published in the Udayavani Deepavali Special Issue. Do not forget to write your name, hometown, address, and contact number at the end of the submission. Last date to send entries: October 10.
