Viral Video: Mumbai Woman Records Man’s Obscene Gestures, Confronts Him With Slaps at Railway Station

A video from Mumbai’s Govandi Railway Station has taken over social media after a woman boldly confronted a man who, she says, kept staring at her and making obscene gestures. What started as an uncomfortable moment quickly turned into a powerful reminder that speaking up matters.

A Woman Who Refused to Stay Silent

According to the woman, the man had been staring at her for several minutes and repeatedly making inappropriate gestures. She initially tried to brush it off, hoping he would stop. But he didn’t. Even when she began recording him from the opposite platform, he continued to wave and stare as if nothing was wrong.

Instead of walking away, she decided to walk towards him. In the video, the woman says, “This man sitting here had been staring at me for 5–10 minutes and making dirty gestures. At first, I tried to ignore him, but he kept calling out to me and making the same dirty gestures from that platform to this one. I thought if I switched on the camera, he might stop, but the moment I did that, he started acting even worse." Moments later, she slaps him twice, after which he quickly apologises.

Once the video hit X (formerly Twitter), shared by Ghar Ke Kalesh with the caption, “A guy was making obscene gestures at a girl at a railway station in Mumbai. The courageous girl recorded the scene and gave him two tight slaps,” reactions poured in. Many users praised her for not letting the behaviour slide.
