Viral Video: Mumbai Woman Records Man’s Obscene Gestures, Confronts Him With Slaps at Railway Station
A video from Mumbai’s Govandi Railway Station has taken over social media after a woman boldly confronted a man who, she says, kept staring at her and making obscene gestures. What started as an uncomfortable moment quickly turned into a powerful reminder that speaking up matters.
Instead of walking away, she decided to walk towards him. In the video, the woman says, “This man sitting here had been staring at me for 5–10 minutes and making dirty gestures. At first, I tried to ignore him, but he kept calling out to me and making the same dirty gestures from that platform to this one. I thought if I switched on the camera, he might stop, but the moment I did that, he started acting even worse." Moments later, she slaps him twice, after which he quickly apologises.
“Nice, girls need to step up, don’t ignore this kind of people,” one wrote.
“Every girl should have this level of confidence, notice what’s wrong, record it and protect yourself,” another commented.
“Good that she didn’t stay silent. Sometimes a slap teaches what manners couldn’t,” read a popular reply.
“Bro thought he was in a movie, got hit with the reality check twice,” someone joked.
“Kudos to her courage! No one should tolerate harassment,” another user said.
Some even posted in Hindi, supporting her stance:
“Har ladki ka confidence level aisa hi hona chahiye wrong ko spot karo, record karo, aur defend yourself.”
The incident is another stark reminder of how public harassment often goes unchecked, and how standing up for yourself can change the narrative. Many online users now see the woman’s courage as an example of what confidence and presence of mind can achieve.
