Watch: Gurugram’s Rs 100-Crore Flats Turn ‘Sea Facing’ After Just 30 Minutes Of Rain
Several parts of Gurugram were severely impacted by waterlogging following a heavy downpour on Wednesday, September 4. Residents faced knee-deep water on roads, and traffic was disrupted in various areas across the city. Even the most exclusive neighborhoods, known for their luxury living , weren't spared, with high-end cars navigating through waterlogged streets. Anushri Pawar, a former employee at Meta, took to X to highlight the dire situation outside DLF Camellias , a prestigious residential complex on Golf Course Road, regarded as one of the city's finest.
Recently in the spotlight for selling apartments at prices exceeding Rs 100 crore, the DLF Camellias drew further attention after Pawar's sarcastic comment about how the area had turned into “sea-facing” property after just half an hour of rain . Her post included a video capturing the flooded streets around DLF Magnolias and DLF Camellias, two of Gurugram’s most opulent housing developments.
“What should we call this? River Facing or Sea Facing? This is the condition of Roads in front of Rs 100 crore Camellias and Magnolias at the Golf Course Road in Gurgaon. This is the condition of roads in just half an hour of rain, and people here will still buy flats for Rs 100 crores,” Pawar wrote in her post.
Her observations resonated with many, prompting responses from across the Delhi NCR region. A Noida resident chimed in, boasting that his city’s infrastructure fared much better. “Have never seen such a thing in Noida. My place is fabulous,” the commenter noted.
Another individual remarked, “This happens when we run behind money and fail as a society.”
One user pointed out the systemic issue, stating that this incident highlighted the absence of a proper rainwater drainage system in major cities. “What we are seeing is nothing else but poor city infrastructure design lacking a rain drainage system,” he added.
Adding to the conversation, another individual shared how the poor drainage systems in Delhi NCR drove him to relocate. “I live in Goa now, and although it rains 14-15 hours a day during monsoon here, however no waterlogging at all. If Delhi NCR gets one day of rain like Goa, every place will be flooded,” he commented.

These properties were bought by notable figures like Rahul Dhanuka, joint managing director of Dhanuka Agritech, Harsh Dhanuka, the executive director, group chairman Ram Gopal Agarwal, and Lenskart co-founder Peyush Bansal.
