'When there are roads, accidents happen': Pune MLA's remark after 11-year-old's death triggers row

PUNE: While the opposition blamed state government’s inaction for the pothole-ridden roads that claimed the life of an 11-year-old boy in Pune’s Mahalunge area on Monday, the local MLA from NCP, Shankar Mandekar, made a controversial statement in which he said that since there are roads, accidents happen.

Mandekar visited the accident spot on Monday afternoon where, during the media interaction, he made the controversial remarks.
