Jackass stars suffered major injuries during their daring stunts.

Since bursting into the spotlight in 2000, Jackass instantly rose to popularity for their daring adventures and stunts, establishing a huge audience of astounded fans who watched their pulse-racing moves diligently. The team of dare-devils included Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius, Dave England, Jason "Wee Man" Acuña, Preston Lacy, Ehren McGhehey, Bam Margera and the late Ryan Dunn. The show was such as hit that it became a cultural phenomenon with it's shock humour beating records and by tthe second episode it garnered MTV's highest-ever Sunday night ratings at the time.

Although Jackass poineered modern and cast-focused reality television, it was also met with major concern and backlash for the stunts influential their primarily teenage audience. Throughout its three seasons, many of the cast sustained major injuries for choatic stunts such as the aligator tightrope, bull riding and the toro totter. Accoring to NME, the group were likley to have suffered 79 injuries and accumulated over $24million (£17.3m) in medical bills.

Faeces-filled ear

The crew made their eagerly anticipated comeback with Jackass Forever in 2022, and Steve-O dished on a gruesome stunt that didn't air.

While he suffered one of the tamest injuries, it was a result of a huge mishap when pulling a stunt with dog faces.

The Poop Cannon was supposed to safely launch the dried dog poop that Steve-O collected and blended with water at him, but he didn't wear earplugs or goggles.

It entered his ear canal with shocking force, landing him in the hospital to get his ear flushed out, and he learned it had punctured a hole in his eardrum.

Brain Haemorrhage

Johnny Knoxville suffered significant injuries in a single stunt with a bull while filming 2022's Jackass Forever.

The aftermath of the Bull stunt left him rethinking his life as he was forced to endure a painful recovery from a broken rib, broken wrist, various concussions, and a haemorrhage in his brain.

The incident was labelled as one of the Jackass injuries in history and prompted Johnny to admit: "I can't take any more hits to the head," during an interview on Howard Stern.

Dangerous blood clot

Before his tragic 2011 death, Ryan Dunn, alongside Steve-O, was known as the most reckless of the group.

He was forced to pay a visit to the hospital after his leg was tied to a horse, which promptly bolted, pulling the star out of the frame.

During the 2006 episode, Ryan landed horribly on his shoulder, and in addition to agonising pain, it also caused a life-threatening blood clot alongside the torn muscles.

The star was observed in urgent care as the clot was located close to his heart and brain; thankfully, it was successfully removed a few days later.

Lamborghini face pull

In 2010, Ehren McGhehey was taken out of commission after he literally broke his face during the Lamborghini tooth pull.

The unscripted antics saw him undergo 25 surgeries, including three broken backs and nine knee surgeries. This injury was like no other.

This stunt saw his tooth tied to Bam's Lamborghini and pulled out by the Lamborghini's force.

However, due to the acceleration, it ended up pulling his face hard enough to break his skull from his mouth all the way to his eye.

Painfully ruptured testical

In 2022, Ehren McGhehey left the Jackass set in an ambulance after another stunt went wrong and left him with a ruptured testicle.

The 49-year-old is attempting to create his infamous "cup test" skit from the first Jackass movie.

It saw him testing the efficiency of sports-grade testicle protection by dropping/throwing/shooting heavy objects at Johnny Knoxville's crotch, but this time it was Ehren's turn and his testicle ruptured.

30% of skin gone

Steve-O, known for being fully committed to his stunts, left the set in 2000 with 30% skin loss after going down a hill in a red wagon and scraping his bottom on the concrete.

Although he was left unable to sit for two weeks and was forced to halt filming.

The daredevil returned with more determination, and upon return, he was lined up for another stunt, which saw his nipple be shot off by a BB gun pellet.

Steve-O left with a souvenir as the pellet remains in his skin to this day.
