1 Indian dead, 11 injured in Riyadh airport attack; Houthis claim responsibility
A missile attack targetted at King Khalid International Airport in the Saudi Arabia capital on Saturday killed several people, including one Indian national, according to the the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia. The attacks also injured 309 people, including 11 Indians.
Sharing an update on the Riyadh Airport attack on October 10, the Embassy said, "It is learnt that one Indian national injured in the Riyadh attack has unfortunately lost his life today. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We are in touch with the family and will provide all support for ensuring the early repatriation of mortal remains."

The fresh attacks occured as Yemen's Houthi group and Saudi Arabia continued exchanging strikes on major airports. According to Reuters, Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis claimed responsibility in a televised speech for Saturday’s attack on Riyadh's international airport that killed 12 people and wounded more than 300 others.
“Embassy of India, Riyadh has been following up on the dastardly attack on Riyadh airport yesterday in which 12 people unfortunately died and more than 300 were injured,” the Embassy said on X.
"It is learnt that 11 Indians are among those injured in the attack. Embassy has been in touch with local authorities to enquire about their well being. Our officials have also reached out to the hospital authorities. We will provide further updates as they become available," it added.

Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar also noted that the Indian Embassy is doing everything necessary.
"Our Embassy is doing everything necessary in this difficult situation. May follow their updates," he said on X, sharing the post of the Embassy.
In a separate post, Jaishankar said, "Deeply grieved at the loss of life of an Indian national in the Riyadh attack. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family. The Embassy will extend all possible assistance."
The missile attack on Saturday struck an airport complex housing terminals 3 and 4 for domestic flights.
A Saudi statement revealed that the dead included four Saudi citizens, two Bangladeshi nationals, a Palestinian, a US citizen, an Egyptian, a Jordanian, a Syrian and a Sudanese.
The diplomatic institution in Saudi reiterated its October 8 advisory for the Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia advising them to remain alert and vigilant and stay indors as necessary.
It urged the Indian nationals to follow the instructions issued by local authorities through official channels.
"Indian nationals are strongly advised to refrain from circulating or reposting any videos or news related to the ongoing events. The Embassy of India, Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah and its outsourced services through VFS, are continuing to function normally and will issue updates and advisories as and when necessary," it informed.
The citizens can contact the authorities through 24x7 helpline of Pravasi Bharatiya Sahayata Kendra (PBSK) which remains available on Toll free No: 8002471234.
The Indian community can also follow the official social media handles of the Embassy for updates through X, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn.
Strongly condemning the incident, India said the repeated attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in the Gulf nation are "completely unacceptable and must cease immediately".
"We strongly condemn the repeated attacks on Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport over the past few days, including the dastardly attack on October 10, which have led to loss of lives, injuries and damage to property," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement earlier on Sunday
"We express our condolences to the families of the deceased and wish speedy recovery to the injured persons," it added.
"We stand in solidarity with the people and the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in defence of their sovereignty, and hope that peace and normalcy returns to the region at the earliest," the MEA said.
