BPSC 72nd PT Exam Postponed Again; Won't Be Held on October 25
The BPSC has once again postponed the 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination. The exam was scheduled for October 25 but has now been deferred for the second time.
The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has once again postponed the 72nd Combined Preliminary Examination. Although the exam was slated for October 25, it has now been deferred for the second time. The Commission has not yet released a new schedule for the exam; consequently, candidates must wait for the announcement of new dates. It is worth noting that the 72nd Combined Competitive Examination aims to recruit personnel for 1,189 posts across various departments of the Bihar government. The preliminary examination is the first stage of this recruitment process. Following this, successful candidates will proceed to the next stage of the selection process in accordance with the Commission's rules.
The date for the 72nd BPSC PT exam was initially set for July 26, 2026. Later, the Commission postponed the exam, citing unavoidable reasons. At that time, too, a new date was not immediately announced. Subsequently, October 25 was proposed as the date for the preliminary exam in the revised examination calendar. Candidates had planned their preparation and revision with this date in mind. Now, with the October exam also postponed, candidates must await a new date.
When Will the New Exam Date Be Announced?
Currently, the BPSC has not disclosed when the 72nd preliminary examination will be held. While October 25 was the date previously proposed in the exam calendar, clarity regarding a future date will only emerge after the Commission issues a new notification. Furthermore, the Commission has not provided specific details regarding the reasons for this second postponement. Similarly, when the exam was postponed in July, the Commission had merely cited "unavoidable reasons."
What should candidates do now?
Candidates are advised to continue their preparations until the new date is announced. They are also cautioned against relying on social media or other sources for unverified information regarding the new exam date. Furthermore, details concerning the new date, admit cards, and other exam-related instructions will be released exclusively through the commission's official website. The frequent changes to the exam schedule are impacting candidates' strategies; consequently, those who had planned their revision around the earlier July and October dates will now need to reorganize their preparation in line with the revised schedule. In the meantime, candidates can utilize this extra time to cover the remaining portions of the syllabus and practice with mock tests.
