Indian Air Force Schools Train 261 Teachers as Cyber Crime Intervention Officers
New Delhi, November 2 (Daily Kiran) : In an effort to bolster cyber safety in educational environments, the Indian Air Force Educational and Cultural Society has trained 261 teachers from 42 Air Force schools as Cyber Crime Intervention Officers. This initiative aims to enhance student protection in the digital realm, a representative announced on November 2.
Under the guidance of the Air Force headquarters, this program connects Air Force schools across the nation with Scroll Control, a comprehensive digital safety initiative managed by the Information Sharing and Analysis Center Foundation (ISAC). The initiative coincides with the National Cyber Security Awareness Month. The trained teachers have completed a certification course designed to equip them to prevent online sexual exploitation, misuse of artificial intelligence, gaming-related harms, and financial fraud.Additionally, this training enables them to preserve digital evidence and act as primary responders in cases of cyber incidents. As students increasingly engage with digital spaces designed primarily for adults, the need for robust online safety measures has never been more critical. In response, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has mandated that affiliated schools celebrate a "Cyber Awareness Day" each month, promoting best practices in cyber security. The current initiative ensures that Air Force schools are well-prepared to meet this growing demand through their newly trained personnel. Through the Scroll Control program, these schools will establish cyber clubs, issue cyber safety certificates to students, and conduct awareness sessions for parents and staff. They will also utilize age-appropriate content rating platforms and work towards recognition as cyber-safe schools. The Ministry of Defence emphasized that the training and certification of teachers, along with their registration in the national security database, will provide continuous victim support through a multidisciplinary network of cyber lawyers, psychologists, and forensic experts.
