International immigration opens at Andhra Pradesh's new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport
International immigration services are now operational at the new Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport in Bhogapuram, Andhra Pradesh, opening the facility for international travel. The Bureau of Immigration announced the development in a post on X, saying the move would strengthen the region’s global connectivity.
The airport, which serves the Visakhapatnam region, began commercial flight operations on August 17. The first flight was welcomed with a water cannon salute as the new airport formally took over commercial services from the old Visakhapatnam airport.
