MHT CET is a state-level entrance examination for admission to undergraduate degree courses such as engineering, pharmacy and agriculture in colleges across Maharashtra.

MHT CET to be held twice a year
The State CET Cell introduced a two-phase system for MHT CET last year. Under this system, candidates get two opportunities to appear for the entrance exam and improve their scores.

For the MHT CET counselling process , the candidate's best score is considered for admission.

The two-phase system gives students another chance if they are not satisfied with their performance in the first attempt.

Class 12 marks may be considered for MHT CET admissions
The Maharashtra government has also formed a panel to examine whether Class 12 marks should be considered while preparing the merit list for engineering and pharmacy admissions.

The panel was formed after a proposal from the State CET Cell.

The five-member panel will also examine the ratio between Class 12 marks and MHT CET percentile scores that could be used for admissions.

The panel has been asked to submit its recommendations to the state government within 15 days.

For now, the MHT CET 2027 December schedule and any change in the admission merit formula are yet to be officially confirmed. Candidates should check the official CET Cell website for the final notification.
