NCERT Class 8 Judiciary Chapter: Supreme Court Takes Suo Motu Cognizance, Orders Withdrawal and Issues Contempt Notices

The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the contents of a Class 8 Social Science textbook published by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT), raising serious concerns over the manner in which the judiciary has been portrayed in the school curriculum. The Court ordered the nationwide withdrawal of the textbook and issued show-cause notices for criminal contempt to the concerned education authorities.
