Medical candidates appearing for NEET PG 2026 will witness a significant change in the post-exam process this time. **Answer Key to be Released for the First Time**
According to the NEET PG 2026 brochure, candidates will be able to view question IDs, the correct answer keys, and their own selected responses by logging into the NBEMS website. The answer key is being made available in compliance with the Supreme Court's directive.
**When Was the Exam Held?**
The NEET PG 2026 exam was conducted in a single shift on August 30. It took place at 1,111 centers across 338 cities nationwide, with over 2.65 lakh candidates participating. The results are expected to be declared by September 30.
**180 Questions, 720 Marks, and Negative Marking**
This year, the exam consisted of 180 multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The paper carried a total of 720 marks. Four marks are awarded for a correct answer, while one mark is deducted for an incorrect one. Previously, the exam comprised 200 questions, but the number was reduced to 180 this year. A re-examination will be held on September 5 at 3 PM for the 2,445 candidates affected by the power outage at the Jaipur center.
**How Will Rank Be Determined in Case of a Tie?**
If two or more candidates secure the same score, tie-breaking rules will apply. Primarily, the candidate with fewer incorrect answers will be ranked higher. Subsequently, ranks will be determined based on the fewest incorrect answers across Sections A, B, and C. Next, preference will be given to the candidate with a higher percentage of marks across all MBBS examinations. Following this, the older candidate will be assigned a better rank.
Admission to MD, MS, and other PG courses in medical colleges will be granted based on NEET PG scores. The counseling schedule will be released after the results are declared. The deadline for completing the internship to meet eligibility requirements is September 30.
