Recruitment for 67 PCS Posts in Uttarakhand: Opportunity to Become DSP and Deputy Collector

The Uttarakhand Public Service Commission (UKPSC) has issued the recruitment notification for the State Civil/Upper Subordinate Services Examination 2026. Through this recruitment, a total of 67 Group B posts will be filled in various departments of the state. These include positions such as Deputy Collector, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), District Commandant (Home Guards), Finance Officer, and Block Development Officer, among others. The online application process for recruitment began on September 9, 2026. Eligible candidates can apply via the Commission’s website until 11:59 PM on September 29, 2026. The deadline for submitting the application fee is also September 29.
Highest Number of Posts for DSP
According to the notification issued by UKPSC, out of the total 67 vacancies, the highest number of posts—14—are for the position of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Ten posts have been designated for Deputy Collector. Additionally, there are 8 posts for Assistant Director/Audit Officer, 5 for Block Development Officer, and 5 for Assistant Divisional Transport Officer. Other vacancies include 4 posts for Finance Officer/Treasury Officer, 4 for Assistant Director/Deputy Secretary in the Sanskrit Education Department, 2 for District Commandant (Home Guards), and 2 for Assistant Director (Factories/Boilers). Single posts have been allocated for Assistant Commissioner (State Tax), Assistant Municipal Commissioner/Executive Officer (Category 1), Deputy Education Officer/Staff Officer/Law Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, and Horticulture Development Officer (Category 2). The recruitment also includes 5 posts for State Tax Officer and 3 posts for Case Worker in the Women’s Welfare Department.
Category-wise Details of the 67 Posts
Out of the total 67 posts, 37 are reserved for the General category. Thirteen posts are designated for Scheduled Castes, 11 for Other Backward Classes, and 6 for the Economically Weaker Section. Horizontal reservation will also apply to the total posts for women from Uttarakhand and statehood movement activists.
What is the salary for each post?
Most of the posts included in the recruitment fall under Level 10, with a salary range of ₹56,100 to ₹1,77,500. The post of State Tax Officer is at Level 7, with a salary range of ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400. Meanwhile, the salary for the Case Worker post is set between ₹35,400 and ₹1,12,400 under Level 6.
Who can apply?
A graduation degree from a recognized university is mandatory for most posts; however, specific educational qualifications apply to certain positions. A graduation degree in Commerce is required for the post of Assistant Director/Audit Officer. Post-graduation is the prescribed qualification for Deputy Education Officer, Staff Officer, and Law Officer. For Assistant Labour Commissioner, a graduation degree in subjects such as Economics, Sociology, or Commerce is necessary. For the post in the Sanskrit Education Department, a post-graduate degree in Sanskrit or a B.Ed. qualification is required. A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is mandatory for the post of Assistant Director (Factories/Boilers), while a degree in Horticulture or Agriculture is required for the Horticulture Development Officer post. For the Case Worker post, a post-graduate degree in Sociology, Applied Sociology, or Social Work is essential.
How many stages are there in the selection process?
The application process for the UKPSC recruitment began on September 9 and will continue until September 29. A correction window for applications will be open from October 7 to October 16. Candidates will be selected through stages comprising a preliminary examination, a written examination, an interview, a medical examination, and document verification. The preliminary examination will consist of papers on General Studies and General Aptitude, while the main examination will include papers on General Hindi, Essay Writing, and various General Studies subjects.
