Teacher Shalini Kushwaha Selected for National Teacher Award, to be Honored at Rashtrapati Bhavan
Prayagraj, September 5 (Daily Kiran) : Shalini Kushwaha, a dedicated teacher from Kaushambi, Uttar Pradesh, has been selected for the prestigious National Teacher Award. She will soon receive this honor from the President at Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi. This recognition is not just a personal achievement for Shalini but a source of pride for her family and the educational community in Kaushambi.
Her journey from a humble teacher to being honored at the President's residence is a testament to her hard work, perseverance, and the support of her family. Shalini's teaching career began in Rewari, where she gradually rose from teacher to headmaster. After transferring to Kaushambi, she focused on enhancing the educational environment and improving student learning as a government teacher. She was appointed as a government teacher in 2015 and has since received a state teacher award for her continuous efforts in the education sector.Beyond her teaching duties, Shalini has also served as an Academic Resource Person (ARP), where she played a crucial role in monitoring the academic status of various schools, guiding teachers, and improving educational quality. Helping fellow educators and inspiring them to enhance their teaching practices has been a significant part of her work. Her husband, Prem Kumar Singh, shared that Shalini has always balanced family responsibilities with her professional goals.Daily, she would manage school duties, care for their children, and strive to advance in the education field. Prem, who previously worked with Electrolux, is now fully dedicated to supporting the family. The news of Shalini receiving the National Teacher Award has brought immense joy to their family. He noted that her dream has always been to contribute positively to education and society. Shalini's daughter, Janvi, reflected on the family's close observation of her mother's struggles and achievements.She recalled that her mother was never idle and often took her and her younger sister to the same school where Shalini began her teaching career. Janvi described their family's early mornings, waking up around four to manage school responsibilities while ensuring the children’s education was prioritized. Shalini's dedication earned her popularity among parents, eventually leading her to the role of vice-principal. The family moved to Kaushambi in 2010, and after becoming a government teacher, Shalini aimed to provide her students with better facilities and an educational environment akin to convent schools.She worked tirelessly to ensure that financial or social challenges did not hinder any child's education. Janvi emphasized that her mother’s values have significantly shaped her aspirations. She hopes to enter the bureaucracy to make impactful decisions for society. Inspired by Shalini's commitment to education and community service, Janvi is determined to follow in her mother’s footsteps.
