With the declaration of the written examination result, the Commission has moved the recruitment process to its final stage. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in the result PDF have been shortlisted to appear for the Personality Test.

However, qualification in the Mains examination does not automatically confirm a candidate's final selection. The candidature of shortlisted candidates remains provisional and is subject to verification of eligibility conditions and supporting documents.

In its official notice, UPSC has advised qualified candidates to keep their original certificates ready for verification during the Personality Test. These include documents supporting claims relating to age, educational qualifications, community, Economically Weaker Section (EWS) status and Person with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), wherever applicable.

Candidates claiming reservation or relaxation benefits under SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwBD and Ex-servicemen categories will also have to produce the relevant original certificates. The Commission has clarified that such certificates must have been issued by the closing date of applications for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination 2026, which was February 27, 2026.
