Alia Bhatt Shares Her Criteria For Choosing Films To Produce And Star In: ‘I Don’t Think I fit Every Role'
Alia Bhatt 's Eternal Sunshine Productions, announced in 2021, has thus far brought forth three projects. While two of these, 'Darlings' and 'Jigra,' feature Alia in the lead role, the third, ' Poachers ,' does not. What criteria does the actor employ in determining which projects she produces and which she chooses to star in?

During an interview with Pinkvilla, Alia disclosed her approach, emphasizing the pivotal consideration. She said, "Do you fit the part? That's the most important question. I don't think I fit every part, you know, so sometimes...and I'm working on a lot of stuff right now, which I'm not acting in. In fact, I see other mainstream actresses as well while we are creating them. I'm like, 'Oh, this will be great for this one'...or actors."
She further added, "So, (it is) something that very naturally happens. Even when I am in a film, I don't look at it only from my character's point of view. So how is everybody sitting in this? So yeah, are you right for the part?"

Alia's latest production, 'Poachers,' helmed by Richie Mehta, renowned for his Emmy-winning work on Delhi Crime Season 1, came about serendipitously. Richie recounted how the project "fell into his lap" when he solicited videos nationwide for a special endeavor. Among the submissions was footage depicting an ivory trade raid. Although he initially set it aside, Richie revisited the idea, envisioning a complete series centered around it.

'Poachers' is backed by the Oscar-winning production company QC Entertainment and spearheaded by the creative genius of Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Richie Mehta. The series is a culmination of Mehta's creative vision as its creator, writer, and director, with Alia Bhatt serving as its Executive Producer, adding her expertise to the project.

In an interview with ANI, Richie Mehta elaborated, "It is about wildlife crime fighters in India, a story about people fighting for our future. Young people are motivated to do everything they can in their power and more to save what they believe is the planet. These wildlife crime fighters are trying to save the entire ecosystem. It's inspired by a true story, the largest elephant poaching case in the history of India, and how these people came together and figured out, with very little support, how to navigate this."
