Sonam Kapoor Spills the Beans on Anil Kapoor's Age-Defying Secrets
Actress Sonam Kapoor characterized her father, actor Anil Kapoor , as an " exceptional individual " who abstains from smoking and drinking. Speaking at the unveiling of Dr. Shiv K Sarin’s book, "Own Your Body: A Doctor’s Life-saving Tips" in New Delhi, she shed light on the lifestyles of her father and his brothers - Boney and Sanjay.
Speaking about her father and uncles, the actor from Sonam said,“My father is an extreme, he doesn't drink, smoke or doesn't do anything. Boney chachu loves the good life, he loves to eat, occasionally he likes to drink, and Sanjay chachu is a moderate one, in between. But they all are good looking healthy men.”
She also mentioned her grandfather, Surinder Kapoor, a film producer, as an example, noting how he maintained his appearance until his passing in 2011, except for the white hair. The launch event for the book was also graced by Sonam's husband, Anand Ahuja, and her father-in-law, Harish Ahuja.
Although Anil abstains from smoking and drinking, Sonam remarked that it's her mother Sunita who is truly health-conscious. Sunita keeps Anil in line, particularly when he's tempted to indulge himself. Sonam emphasized that her mother has been health-conscious since the beginning.
“Honestly, since I remember my mom started the first personal training gym in Mumbai. This was many many years ago,” she said, adding, “So it is my mother who has been very very healthy from the very beginning. Very health conscious. My dad would love to indulge sometimes but my mother kind of controls him like a very good Indian wife.”

Sonam paused her acting career following her appearance in the 2019 film "The Zoya Factor," only making a cameo in the 2020 film "AK vs AK." She returned to the screen in the 2023 movie "Blind," which unfortunately received unfavorable reviews. Anil, on the other hand, was recently featured in Siddharth Anand's film "Fighter" alongside Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone.
