IIT Aspirations Unveiled: All India Rank Trailer by Varun Grover Hits the Screens
The creators of All India Rank unveiled the movie's trailer on Monday, and actor Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to share the glimpse into the intense competition for an IIT seat. The film, a directorial debut by Varun Grover , the acclaimed writer of Sacred Games, premiered as the opening film at the 12th Dharamshala International Film Festival.
Sharing the trailer, Vicky wrote on Instagram on Monday, “Hum dono engineers ka cinema ki duniya mein safar lagbhag saath hi shuru hua with… Masaan. “Saala yeh dukh kaahe khatam nahi hota bey!” (Us engineers began our career in the film industry almost at the same time with Masaan. ‘Why does the suffering never end!’) A line written by him has over the years evolved to be one of the most noteworthy scenes of my filmography so far.”
Expressing his pride, Vicky added, "I’m so happy and proud to be presenting the Trailer of ALL INDIA RANK… the directorial debut of my dear and incredibly talented friend Varun Grover. Shine on mere bhai (my brother), and my best wishes to the entire team…"
The two-minute-30-seconds trailer portrays the challenges faced by a 17-year-old boy from Lucknow in the 90s as he strives to meet his family's expectations. Preparing for India’s toughest under-grad exam at an IIT coaching centre in Kota, the journey is arduous. The crux of the tale seems to be his perseverance despite the obstacles.
About All India Rank, Varun Grover, known for his work in Sacred Games and Masaan, makes his directorial debut, featuring Bodhisattva Sharma, Samta Sudiksha, Shashi Bhushan , Geeta Agrawal, and Sheeba Chaddha in lead roles. Sanjay Routray and Sarita Patil produce the film, with Gayatri M co-producing. Scheduled for a theatrical release on February 23, the film boasts music by Mayukh – Mainak, with Varun penning the lyrics. Fans have flooded the trailer with congratulatory messages, wishing Varun success in his directorial debut.
