Janhvi Kapoor Expresses Regret Over Not Learning Telugu For 'Devara' Alongside Jr NTR
Actress Janhvi Kapoor is set to make her debut in South Indian cinema with Koratala Siva’s ' Devara : Part 1,' featuring Jr NTR and Saif Ali Khan in pivotal roles. Portraying the character of Thangam, a rustic village beauty, Kapoor embraces a fresh persona. During an interview with The Week, she candidly discussed the challenges she faces in mastering her dialogues for the movie.
Janhvi Regrets Not Learning Telugu
In her interview, Janhvi revealed her apprehension about learning her lines for Devara. Admitting her lack of proficiency in Telugu, she expressed regret over never having learned the language. “I never learned Telugu and it is something I am ashamed of. I can understand it phonetically, but I can’t speak it. Yes, it is one of my biggest regrets. This part of me had been dormant for a while. But the Devara team is very patient and helpful. They are working with such stalwarts and I am so grateful they are just a call away to help me with my lines,” she shared.
In a recent interview with iDream Media, producer Boney Kapoor confirmed Janhvi's involvement in upcoming projects with Ram Charan and Suriya. However, Janhvi refrained from either confirming or denying these reports, stating, “My father has gone and made some announcement, and I don’t know what he has said. It’s too early to talk about the other films. My father has definitely not spoken to me or my producers. I wish I belonged to a universe where you just shoot films, you didn’t have to announce, clarify or deny them.”
In addition to her Telugu projects alongside Jr NTR and Ram Charan and the Hindi film with Suriya, Janhvi Kapoor is set to appear in 'Mr and Mrs Mahi,' 'Ulajh,' and 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari.'
