Kangana Ranaut premiered the trailer of the Telugu film "Razakar: The Silent Genocide of Hyderabad" at a Mumbai event on Saturday. During the event, she was questioned about her opinions on the Prime Minister of India. In response, Kangana humorously mentioned her role as India's Prime Minister in the upcoming movie "Emergency."
“I just did a film called Emergency. After watching that movie, nobody will want me as the Prime Minister," Kangana Ranaut said at the event.
Kangana directs and produces the film, portraying the role of former Prime Minister of India, Indira Gandhi. Titled "Emergency," the movie delves into the life of the late Prime Minister and serves as Kangana's debut as a solo director.
Kangana's Previous Remarks on Entering Politics
In February 2023, Kangana Ranaut stated that she did not consider herself a political individual. On X (formerly Twitter), she had said, “I am a sensitive and sensible person, not a political person. I was asked to join politics many times, I didn’t."
In November 2023, Kangana revealed her interest in running for elections. When questioned by reporters about her potential candidacy in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the actor responded, “Shri Krishna ki kripa rahi to ladenge (If Lord Krishna showers blessings, I will fight).”
