According to a source reportedly speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Kiara Advani has been selected for a significant role in Don 3, and Farhan Akhtar is poised to confirm this decision. The insider shared, “Director Farhan Akhtar felt that Kiara fits the bill perfectly. Moreover, she has never been paired with lead actor Ranveer Singh before. Kiara, too, is excited to be a part of an exciting action franchise. She is looking forward to playing the stylish part and also collaborating with Farhan Akhtar and Ranveer Singh.”
“Until now, Kiara has proved her worth in romantic, intense and comic roles. With Don 3 and War 2, she’ll make a mark in the action genre and thus, emerge as an all rounder actress,” the source added.However, only time will tell if these reports hold true.
Last year, Farhan surprised everyone by releasing a teaser of Don 3, which confirmed Ranveer Singh as the new Don, replacing Shah Rukh Khan. The teaser unveiled within an apartment, set against a stunning city skyline, featured Ranveer Singh's voiceover, saying, “Sher jo so raha hain woh jagega kab, puchte hai yeh sab. Unse keh do phir jaag utha hoon main, aur phir samne jald aane ko…”
In a subsequent interview with BBC Asian Network, Farhan addressed the criticism he faced for replacing Shah Rukh Khan in Don 3. “I’m just really looking forward to get it going. I mean Ranveer is amazing. He’s great for the part. He’s also as you can imagine, really excited and really nervous, about the thing you’re filling some big shoes before you. But we went through the same emotional process when Shah Rukh did it and everyone was like ‘Oh my God, how can you replace Mr. Bachchan?.’ That whole thing happened then,” he reflected.
