Ranbir Kapoor Draws Backlash For Non-Veg Meal After Promoting Sattvic Diet For Ramayana

Newspoint
Ranbir Kapoor has landed in a fresh online controversy after a new video challenged earlier reports about his lifestyle changes for Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana. It had been widely claimed that the actor had adopted a strict sattvic routine giving up smoking, alcohol, and non-vegetarian food, while embracing meditation and disciplined fitness to better align himself with the calm, spiritual image of Lord Ram.

However, a newly released video has cast serious doubt on these claims. The clip, part of Dining With The Kapoors , commemorating the 100th birth anniversary of Raj Kapoor, shows the family enjoying a hearty meal. Armaan Jain can be seen serving Fish Curry Rice and Junglee Mutton to the Kapoor clan, seated together at the dinner table. Ranbir is spotted dining with Neetu Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Rima Jain and other family members.

Netizens Call Out “Misleading PR Narrative”

The video quickly went viral, with many users accusing the star’s team of building a false narrative for promotion. One viral post said,

“Ranbir Kapoor’s PR team claimed he gave up non vegetarian food out of respect for playing Lord Ram in the Ramayana movie but he is seen enjoying fish curry, mutton, and paya with his family. Ranbir Kapoor has the most effective PR in Bollywood. #DiningWithTheKapoors.”

Another user questioned the strategy behind creating such claims, writing,
“I think PR teams of Bollywood actors should be fired, especially that of RK and Alia Bhatt. They don’t do an ounce of research of past videos of their clients before posting such stupidity… What was the need to make claims of leaving non-veg and drinks for the role? Who asked?”

Anticipation Around Ramayana Continues

Despite the controversy, excitement remains high for the film. Ranbir Kapoor will be seen as Ram, with Sai Pallavi playing Sita. Yash takes on the formidable role of Ravana, while Sunny Deol and Ravie Dubey appear as Hanuman and Laxman. Kajal Aggarwal and Rakul Preet Singh step into the roles of Mandodri and Surpanakha. The cast also includes Arun Govil, Kunal Kapoor, Adinath Kothare, Sheeba Chaddha and Indira Krishnan.

Reports suggest that the first installment of Ramayana has already completed its editing, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated releases in recent years.
