Rashmika Mandanna Speaks Out After Arrest of Deepfake Video Maker, Sends Message to Supporters
Actress Rashmika Mandanna has issued a response following the arrest of the individual responsible for creating a deepfake video of her. In a statement to X, Rashmika conveyed her appreciation to the police and also conveyed a message to her fans. The main suspect in the case was apprehended by the Delhi Police on Saturday.

Feeling truly grateful for the community that embraces me with love, and support and shields me (national flag emoji). Girls and boys - if your image is used or morphed anywhere without your consent. It is wrong! And I hope this is a reminder that you are surrounded by people who will support you and action will be taken! (White heart emoji)."

The Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) Unit of the Special Cell, Delhi Police, have reportedly apprehended Eemani Naveen (24), the alleged mastermind behind the creation and dissemination of deep fake videos featuring Rashmika on various social media platforms. According to law enforcement officials, Naveen, a resident of Guntur district in Andhra Pradesh, holds a B.Tech degree from a prestigious engineering college in Chennai. Hemant Tiwari, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for the IFSO Unit, stated that Naveen operated a fan page dedicated to Rashmika and additionally established two more fan pages for two other prominent celebrities.
The police officer mentioned that the 24-year-old became frightened upon discovering that his videos had sparked controversy nationwide. "Later when he realized that it became a national sensation. He also saw tweet from famous film stars against the said deep fake video. He got scared and deleted the said posts from the Instagram Channel and also changed the name of the Insta channel. He had also deleted the relevant digital data from his devices," the police officer said.
In November of the previous year, an AI-generated deepfake video featuring the likeness of actor Rashmika surfaced on the internet, igniting conversations about digital safety. The video depicted a woman, resembling Rashmika, entering an elevator while wearing a black swimsuit. Swiftly gaining traction, the video went viral, prompting numerous social media users to come forward and verify that it was indeed a deepfake.
