Rohit Shetty, a renowned filmmaker recognized for his creations such as the Golmaal and Singham series, has notably collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan in blockbusters like Chennai Express and Dilwale. Despite the success of these films, Shetty has not joined forces with SRK again since their last collaboration in 2015, which also featured Kajol. In a recent interview, Shetty disclosed the reasons behind the absence of further collaborations with the megastar.

Director-producer Rohit Shetty achieved significant success with the 2006 film Golmaal. Subsequently, he collaborated with Shah Rukh Khan in the blockbuster Chennai Express in 2013 and Dilwale in 2015. However, since then, the notable figures in the Indian film industry have not joined forces, leading to speculation about potential discord between them. In a recent interview with The Lallantop, Shetty clarified the situation.
During the interview, the host posed a fan's question to Rohit, asking if there was any tension between him and the actor from "Jawan" since they haven't worked together in almost ten years. Upon hearing the question, the filmmaker burst into laughter. He responded, “Aesa kuch nhi hai. (There’s nothing like that.)”
Continuing, he discussed his intentions to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan, stating, “Koi achi kahani milne ke saath me, karna hai toh fir vo aesi ho k vo Chennai Express se badi ho. Sabse important cheez rehta hai k kabhi aesa koi subject aaya toh kyun nhi karungi mai, zaroor karunga. (If I get a good story, if we have to work together then it should be better that Chennai Express. Most important thing is that. If something like this comes then we will definitely work together.)”

In the interview, Rohit discussed his father, MB Shetty, a renowned Bollywood stuntman. He recounted a tragic incident during the filming of Bombay 405 Miles, which ultimately led to his father's passing. According to Rohit, during a scene in the movie, a stunt double for actor Shatrughan Sinha was required to leap from a godown, and a petrol explosion was planned for the sequence.
During the filming, the original plan was for his father to signal approval to the cameraman and another individual responsible for triggering the blast. However, an unexpected turn of events occurred when these two men swapped positions. In the confusion, MB Shetty mistakenly signaled to the person in charge of triggering the blast, resulting in the stuntman, Mansoor, being engulfed in flames. Tragically, Mansoor succumbed to his injuries later on.
The director of Bol Bachchan revealed that he took the blame upon himself, leading to his father's descent into alcoholism. Consequently, his father began turning down job opportunities and remained at home. Sadly, a year later, he also succumbed to his struggles and passed away. “Ek saal baad dad also passed away. Unhone ye apne upar le liya tha or dad ki image bohat strong thi workers me because fighters’ association me.... dad bohat active the workers ke liye ((After one year, dad also passed away. Dad took it upon himself and his image was strong among workers because he was active in fighters association).”
