Sandeep Reddy Vanga Speaks Out Amidst Criticism Over Animal's Climax: 'Maar Doon Hero Ko...'
In response to the criticism surrounding the climactic scenes of his widely-discussed movies, 'Kabir Singh' and 'Animal,' Director Sandeep Reddy Vanga addressed the feedback. Starring Shahid Kapoor and Kiara Advani, 'Kabir Singh' is a remake of Vanga's earlier work, 'Arjun Reddy,' while 'Animal' features Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna. Vanga asserted that certain individuals within the audience expressed disapproval of the film endings due to what he believes to be their 'personal agenda.'
Vanga shared with Dainik Bhaskar, “People are accustomed to a hero giving a lecture in the climax. He should accept on the screen that what he did was wrong, that is when people get satisfied. They wanted Kabir to accept that he was wrong and that he should not have gotten Preeti. In Animal too, there were so many consequences, the father is going to die, his wife will be leaving him, his health is gone for a toss. Aur kya chahiye, maar dun hero ko climax mein? (What else do you want? Do you want me to kill the hero in the climax?)”
Vanga emphasized that audience dissatisfaction with a film often stems from not getting the 'desired climax.' He remarked, “It’s a problem when people don’t get the desired climax. When personal agenda comes in between watching a film, then Avatar will be boring, Animal kya hai?”
Meanwhile, Vanga disclosed his desire to collaborate with Shah Rukh Khan in the future. He expressed, “I want to work with Shah Rukh Khan sir. Every hero ke liye kuch na kuch idea rahega. In Hindi, I definitely want to work with Shah Rukh sir, Ranveer Singh.” Although Vanga hasn't engaged in discussions about a potential partnership with SRK, he mentioned that the Bollywood superstar appreciated the teaser of 'Animal.'
“We did not speak about it (Sandeep’s films). He (SRK) saw the teaser, he liked the teaser. I showed him the teaser in the office, he had come during Ganpati,” Vanga furtger added.
