Shahid Kapoor Speaks Out On Deepfake Videos: 'We Are Pushing Blame On AI, But Human Beings Are Themselves The Problem'

Engaged in the promotion of their forthcoming film Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya , Shahid Kapoor and Kriti Sanon delved into the intricacies of their movie's exploration of an 'impossible love story' set in the unexplored realms of artificial intelligence (AI) during a recent interview with India Today. When questioned about the rise in deepfake videos , Shahid attributed the misuse of AI to human actions, emphasizing 'There's a distinction between creations of man and those of God.'

In his statement, Shahid Kapoor expressed, "Human beings are themselves the problem. They have done this to the world. We are pushing the blame on AI. We are used to not living in reality. We keep projecting something else on social media that is not a reality and keep comparing reality with what we see on social media and then leads one into depression. That is the truth... we are looking for an alternate reality. That is what AI is and it is something as fundamental as a relationship. There is a difference between man-made and God created. This is there in this film (Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya), shown in a subtle way."

Kriti Sanon added, "It is concerning and there are several morphed ones that came out. But there are also AI-generated news anchors which means that we are moving forward really fast. So, an AI partner is possible in coming years."

About 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya'

In the film, Shahid portrays a scientist entangled in emotions for Kriti's character, Sifra, an exceptionally intelligent female robot. During a recent event in Jaipur, when questioned about the potential takeover of human emotions by AI in the near future, Shahid responded to news agency ANI, stating that this very concept is the central theme of his upcoming film.

Amit Joshi and Aradhana Sah serve as the writers and directors of the film, 'Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya.' The production is orchestrated by Dinesh Vijan, Jyoti Deshpande, and Laxman Utekar. Additionally, the film stars the legendary actor Dharmendra.
