Poonam Pandey is alive. The celebrity, known for her appearance on Lock Upp, addressed the circulating rumors in a video statement on Saturday morning, emphatically asserting her well-being. In the video, Poonam stated that the false reports of her demise were propagated with the intention of raising awareness about cervical cancer .
“I am alive. I did not die because of cervical cancer. Unfortunately, I cannot say that about those hundreds and thousands of women who have lost their lives because of cervical cancer. It is not because they couldn’t do anything about it but because they had no idea what to do about it. I am here to tell you that, unlike other cancers, cervical cancer is preventable. All you have to do is, you have to get your tests done and you have to get HPV vaccine,” Poonam emphasized.
Meanwhile, Sheryln Chopra , in a video, responded to the alleged PR stunt. She said, "Kya koi bhi social awareness campaign fraud aur jhooth ke adhaar pe chalayi ja sakti hain? Poonam ne fraud ka istamal kyu kiya? Cervical cancer se peerit mahilaye keh rahe hai woh poonam pandey ke iss stunt ko le kar sharminda mehsoos kar rahe hai. Toh aap ne kya haasil kiya, Poonam? Deeply saddened to inform you that we have lost our beloved Poonam to cervical cancer. Every living form that ever came in contact with her was met with pure love and kindness. In this time of grief, we would request for privacy while we remember her fondly for all that we shared.”
