World's First AI-Driven Kannada Film 'Love You' Created by Bengaluru Priest at Only Rs 10 Lakh
In a quiet village near Bengaluru, a priest has rewritten the rules of filmmaking. Narasimha Murthy, from Siddehalli, surprised the Kannada film industry by creating Love You—a full-length feature film made entirely with Artificial Intelligence, and without a single actor, musician, or traditional film crew.
A Two-Man Dream Team
Murthy teamed up with Nuthan, a graphic designer turned AI wizard, to craft the 95-minute film from scratch. Certified U/A by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), Love You stands as Karnataka’s first AI-generated film—and one of the few of its kind in India. With just ₹10 lakh, mostly spent on software licenses, the duo pulled off an ambitious project in six months using 30 different AI tools.
Everything—from the characters and dialogue to drone shots and background music—was created using AI. The film features 12 original songs with lyrics and dialogues contributed by Murthy himself, then rendered using voice and music-generating AI platforms.

The Vision Behind the Film
Narasimha told TOI that he aims to create and release the "world’s first AI feature film" in theatres, with plans to screen it on a single screen to set a record. The film, titled Love You, features 12 original songs and AI-generated dialogues, though Narasimha himself contributed to the lyrics and script. However, despite his claim, Love You is not the first AI-generated movie—Where The Robots Grow was released earlier in 2024.
Discussing the CBFC’s response, he said, “Even the regional censor officer pointed out inconsistencies in the characters’ features from scene to scene. Creating emotional expressions was a challenge, and lip-syncing is far from ideal.” However, the board was impressed by the ‘film’s ambition and innovation’.
What’s Next?
Technology in AI filmmaking is evolving fast. “The tools we used are already six months old. If we recreated the same film today, it would be a thousand times better, ” said Nuthan.
Narasimha Murthy isn't stopping here. He's already working on two new AI-driven films based on Bengaluru’s founder Kempe Gowda and the legendary Immadi Pulikeshi. With AI opening new doors, this priest-turned-filmmaker is set to script more history—pixel by pixel.
