Ankita Lokhande Clarifies the Real Intent Behind Speaking About Sushant Singh Rajput on Bigg Boss 17
Ankita Lokhande clarified that her discussions about Sushant Singh Rajput on Bigg Boss 17 were not part of a strategic move. Despite having dated Sushant in the past, Ankita often shared anecdotes and surprising details about their relationship during the season. When the media visited the Bigg Boss house to interview the contestants, Ankita faced a question about whether she was intentionally mentioning Sushant's name to attract his fans. The actress refuted the suggestion, stating that she spoke about him because he was a genuinely nice person.
As reported by ETimes, Ankita said, “No, it is nothing like that. Abhishek and I used to keep talking about Sushant as he considers him as his idol and really looks up to him. He wants to be like Sushant and considers him as his inspiration. I’ve always talked only good things about Sushant because I feel if I can tell some good things about him through this platform why not? Usne acche kaam kiye hain, and I can speak about it because jitne main unke baare mein jaanti hoon and I’ve seen his journey.
“And I’ve explained the same about him. I feel very proud to talk about Sushant wherever I am and there is nothing wrong in talking about Sushant. I am talking only about the good things which I know about him. I feel it is absolutely fine because jitna main Sushant ko jaanti hoon shayad koi nahi jaanta. And if there is a young boy who wants to be like him I will definitely talk to him or anybody else,” she added.
Ankita and Sushant initiated their acting careers together with Pavitra Rishta, where their love story blossomed. The couple remained romantically involved for seven years before parting ways. Tragically, in June 2020, Sushant was discovered dead in his apartment. Reflecting on Sushant's demise during a conversation with Munawar Faruqui, Ankita expressed,“Tut gaya voh kisi chiz se. Nahi hona chahiye tha (He was broken because of something. This shouldn’t have happened).”
