Min Hee Jin’s Private Messages Were Reportedly Leaked To The Media By HYBE
HYBE Faces Accusations of Leaking Min Hee Jin’s Private Messages .
HYBE, home to popular K-pop group NewJeans , is under fire for allegedly leaking private messages of former ADOR CEO, Min Hee Jin . This controversy surfaced during a September 25th interview on "Kim Hyun Jung’s News Show" on CBS Radio, where Seoul Shinmun reporter Jang Hyung Woo made startling revelations.
Jang disclosed that during a meeting with HYBE’s PR team in May, they showed him private KakaoTalk messages between Min Hee Jin and others. These messages later appeared in media outlets, raising questions about whether this was an orchestrated leak. “At first, I thought it was just a personal deviation by the PR representative. But later, the contents of our conversation were actually published in articles.” Jang stated.
HYBE’s PR team also allegedly downplayed NewJeans’ accomplishments in Japan and made troubling claims about the group being “gaslighted” by Min Hee Jin. He continued, “In May, HYBE’s PR representative and the head of PR came to my company and showed me private KakaoTalk messages between Min Hee Jin and others. These later appeared in online media outlets, so it can’t be seen as just an individual’s actions.”
Jang also revealed a snippet of his conversation with the PR team. In the recording, the PR representative is heard saying, "It feels like the manager at Seoul Shinmun has it out for us. We need to turn things around. Both you and us are exhausted. Let’s schedule a meeting and win him over as soon as possible."
When host Kim Hyun Jung asked for clarification, Jang explained, “The implication was that they would secure advertising with my company in exchange for more favorable reporting for HYBE. They even suggested going golfing with the manager. But my manager rejected it, saying it was inappropriate.”
In response to these claims, HYBE stated “We are doing our best to promote ADOR and NewJeans albums.”
