Park Min Young Stands Up for BoA Amidst 'Marry My Husband' Acting Critique

In the drama, Park Min Young played the role of Kang Ji Won, a character who meets a tragic end while confronting her husband's affair with her best friend. However, the narrative takes a surprising twist when Kang Ji Won finds herself transported back in time by 10 years instead of facing her demise.

During the drama, Park Min Young received criticism for her unconventional office attire choices. Addressing the criticism, Park Min Young explained, "I've displayed the office look in about three different works. If you look at the tvN 'What's Wrong With Secretary Kim ?,' her outfits are very similar. So I didn't want to repeat that look. I thought it would be too similar. So, I cut my hair into a bob. I also thought that the character would want to dress in a way that is completely different in her second life. That's why I dressed more fancy during that alumni dinner scene."

She continued, "The reason I wore the off-shoulder outfits is because I was looking at the trending outfits of 2023. There was a mistake when communicating (with my stylist). I worked with another stylist at the beginning of the drama because I wanted to do something different, but I think there was miscommunication. So starting from episode 9, I started working with the stylist I worked with for 10 years."

Park Min Young also addressed the criticism directed towards BoA for her portrayal of Oh Yu Ra . BoA joined the cast towards the conclusion of the drama, garnering mixed reviews from viewers regarding her performance. Many criticized BoA's acting, claiming it detracted from the overall quality of the drama.

Regarding this, Park Min Young responded, "I don't want to defend or take sides, but personally, I think it's difficult for anyone to join a drama midway. It's hard even for veteran actors, and joining a popular drama midway is even harder."

She continued, "She took on a really difficult and challenging role, and I hope people can see beyond the acting and appreciate it as something beautiful. BoA and I are the same age, so just looking at her, I think, 'We've both endured a lot.' I did my best during filming, and I hope people can recognize that she did her best too. Fortunately, we have a lot of captivating villains in the drama, and with BoA's addition, it may feel frustrating, but I think it can also be a buildup for another surprise. I hope people will see it positively."
