'100%', 'Energy Drink', immunity claims: FSSAI flags 6 food firms
NEW DELHI: Claims that promise more, sound healthier or make a product appear superior have come under the scanner of the food regulator, with the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India ( FSSAI ) flagging misleading claims by six food business operators (FBOs) and directing corrective action.
The cases range from the use of “100%” on coconut oil and “Energy Drink” on a caffeinated beverage to claims around immunity, growth, digestion and nutrition in baby food, as well as health and nutrient-comparison claims.
