As obesity rises, Supreme Court puts govt on notice over junk food labels

NEW DELHI: With obesity, particularly among children, turning out to be a major health concern and number of overweight school-going kids and adolescents increasing from 2% to 10% between 2000 and 2022, Supreme Court has indicated that the health of people cannot be compromised and sent an ultimatum to Centre to implement its order for putting front-of-pack warning labels on junk food.
