Additionally, new rules governing the National Payment Systems ( NPS ) and FasTag are set to take effect from February 1 , 2024. 1. IMPS Transformation: No More Hassles

Under the revamped IMPS rules , transferring amounts up to Rs 5 lakh has become a breeze. Now, you can effortlessly send money using only the beneficiary's registered mobile number and name, eliminating the need for cumbersome details like IFSC code and bank account number. This streamlined process was communicated by NPCI via a circular on October 31, marking a departure from the current method requiring extensive details for large transactions.

2. NPS Evolution: Refined Partial Withdrawals

The new NPS rule, effective from February 1, brings changes to partial withdrawals. Account holders can now withdraw a maximum of 25% of the total deposited amount, with withdrawals limited to specific situations like education expenses, weddings, home buying, starting a business, and similar circumstances. PFRDA announced this rule through a notification on January 12, aiming to ensure more judicious use of NPS funds.

3. FasTag Alert: KYC Deadline Approaching


FasTag users, take note! If you haven't completed your KYC by January 31, 2024, your FasTag will face deactivation from February 1, 2024, regardless of the balance remaining. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) emphasizes that deactivated or blacklisted FasTags won't be able to cross toll plazas starting February 1. To avoid disruptions, users can conveniently complete their KYC online by visiting the official Fastag website.
