Devotees Flock to Prayagraj for Padma Ekadashi Rituals

Prayagraj, September 22 (Daily Kiran) : A significant surge of devotion swept through Prayagraj on September 22, as thousands of pilgrims gathered at the Triveni Sangam and Ganga ghats to celebrate Padma Ekadashi. From early morning, devotees arrived in large numbers to take holy dips and engage in prayers. One devotee shared the significance of the day, explaining that Padma Ekadashi occurs during the Shukla Paksha of the Bhadrapada month.This day is dedicated to worshiping Lord Vishnu in his Vamana form. Currently, the Chaturmas period is underway, a time when it is believed that Lord Vishnu turns on his side, enhancing the importance of this Ekadashi. The devotee emphasized that bathing in the Ganges on this day brings immense spiritual merit. Engaging in rituals, fasting, and prayer is believed to fulfill one's desires. They expressed their hope that all beings may find happiness, alongside their own well-being.Meanwhile, priest Gopal Ji noted that the combination of Padma Ekadashi and Tuesday adds special significance to the worship of Lord Hanuman. The alignment of these auspicious days makes today even more special. Additionally, many pilgrims are beginning their journey to Gaya from Prayagraj. The priest highlighted the large crowds in Prayagraj, with many devotees arriving at the Sangam. The convergence of Padma Ekadashi, Tuesday, and the start of the Gaya pilgrimage elevates the day’s importance.According to religious beliefs, performing rituals such as bathing, worshiping, meditating, and offering pind daan in Prayagraj yields infinite rewards. It is widely believed that bathing here brings prosperity and abundance to households, purifying both the mind and emotions.
