Gold Prices Inch Up Amid Global Uncertainty; Check City-Wise Rates for May 8

Gold prices in India witnessed a moderate rise on May 8, even as the US Federal Reserve kept interest rates unchanged. The uptick is being driven by global uncertainties, especially surrounding US-China trade talks, prompting investors to flock to the safety of gold.

In Mumbai, 22-carat gold is priced at ₹90,900 per 10 grams, while the purer 24-carat variant is retailing at ₹99,150. Silver also saw a marginal gain, trading at ₹99,100 per kg - an increase of ₹100.

Gold and Silver Rates on MCX

On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold saw a slight gain of 0.09%, reaching ₹97,180 per 10 grams. Silver, however, dipped by 0.54%, trading at ₹96,254 per kg in early morning trades.
